What are scouts/coaches looking for in a soccer player?

  • so im only a freshman but im on the varsity team in high school as a starter and i play under 19 and i can play ever position on the field
    but there are also a lot of other good players too

    is there anything i can do that will make me stand out in games? like are they looking for speed. what are college scouts looking for?


  • What most scouts look for when making a selection is how good you are at the basics and how you use your head. For example, every pass you do. What will happen? Will the opponent take it? Will my player be able to head that? etc

    If you can do the basics extremely well it then it solidifies your position but it isn't set in concrete.You also need the extra skill to be able to do the advanced stuff too.

    I can only recommend practice hard if you want to go further.
