my daughter just turned 2 last month. how much should she be talking ? and what kind of thinks should she already know?? can anyone help with with these questions please!hi, my daughter was 2 last week !! she has a lot of single words and is starting to string some together, like where daddy gone, etc she is learning a couple of new words every day . a newly turned - 2 year old ; is vastly under-developed in language and shape /color recognition as compared to a 2 1/2 year old nearing 3.
So dont feel as if your daughter is behind learning that some of these 2 1/2 year olds know a whole lot more than your daughter
its a very big year for development, 2 year olds should just be starting potty trainingg, know some words, names, commands, simple sentences, likes and dislikes..nothing too advanced yet
but by 2 1/2 - 3 ...they should know shapes/ colorsETCMy granddaughter is 2 1/2 and she knows all her shapes and most colors, can say sentences that I can understand and can count to 10. She can use scissors and glue and can draw a circle. See what you have in store for you. Of course we think she's a genius, but we are prejudiced. She's potty trained too. She's very shy though. You have so much to look forward too, everyday is a learning experience. And children do things in there own time.this is a great question you should be asking her pediatrician. Your daughter should have had a 2 yr check up. Mine just had hers and the doctor asked these questions:
Does she know more than 20 words?
Can she put words together to form a sentence?
Can she respond to a command?
